All about Fairview Reformed Church
The Fairview Reformed Church is seeking a full-time pastor to become a
part of the fabric of our congregation and village by ministering to the total life of this
community by preaching, teaching, witnessing and proclaiming the Gospel of our Lord,
Jesus Christ. We are a friendly church with members of all ages who care deeply about
each other and are passionate about reaching the unchurched while growing in our own
relationship with our Lord and Savior.
Together with the leading, teaching and guiding of our pastor, we are eager and
willing to work as a team to continue the ministries we already have in place and to
implement new programs to serve our ever-evolving congregational needs. We are
especially interested in meeting the needs of our growing segment of young families and
children who make up 47% of our congregation while also ministering effectively to our
second largest population group which is over 65.
We look forward to welcoming a pastor who will inspire us through spirit-filled
messages from the pulpit and who will create new opportunities for growth and
fellowship so we can continue to serve our awesome God for another 187 years.
As the only church of any faith in Fairview, we have the opening to be the Church of Jesus
Christ to the community. Fairview and the surrounding area are the actual parish of
Fairview Reformed Church and you would have the opportunity to be pastor to the area.
Fairview is located in the beautiful agricultural heartland of Illinois, thirty miles
east of Peoria and conveniently midway between Chicago and St. Louis. Our historic
church has been conducting services continually since being organized in 1837 and is the
oldest Reformed Church west of the Allegheny Mountains. Worship is still conducted in
the beautifully restored, original two-story building completed in 1841. Sharing the
shady one block area where the church stands is a modern Fellowship Hall with pastor’s
office. A lovely four-bedroom parsonage, built in 1999, is across the street. ​
